I managed to cut my finger and I don’t care because I am finishing this comic on time and under budget, dammit. A bloody stylus is a small price to pay.
It’s hard to know in what order to list the media that influenced The Water Phoenix King‘s creation, but since @Hexaday has proved to be such a hit, let’s hop from novels to RPGs with Nobilis, one of my favorite tabletop games. A game of gods and cosmic powers inspired by Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comics and Piers Anthony’s Incarnations of Immortality series, Nobilis positions the PCs as minor gods in charge of wait a minute, holy shit, the game costs over $100?
And my first edition is double that? Well, at least I can make rent if my finances ever go south. Jesus. Anyway, the third edition isn’t as good, sorry. Terrible art and a turn toward the twee. But WPK’s mythological underpinnings derive from a Nobilis game I ran maybe ten years ago. I only wish I could match its author’s peerless and elegant prose.
Or if you can settle for a pdf, you can get it from Scribed. I assume legitimately.
