I’m betting Hicoresh feels much more like a boss now Lyca isn’t around to stone song her over the edge of the bridge, or something else very painful…
So what prevents Anthem from Malice-porting her arm off?
*shakes head*
This might be where understanding how precisely Malice works would be nice…So I guess Malice won’t work if it doesn’t cut?
My hang up is that in the 8th panel, Hicoresh is blocking the swing with her arm. What prevents her from getting slung past the moon on that impact?
“What prevents her from getting slung past the moon on that impact?”
Near-invincible demon armor, of course!
Well, that and, if Anthem did strike an unarmored Hicoresh, the result wouldn’t be Star Trek-transporter teleportation. The flesh through which Malice passed would scatter to random parts of the universe at random. The end result is that Malice works pretty much like a regular sword except it is ridiculously sharp–rather than parting flesh (or whatever), it basically vaporizes it. But the result is the same–sword goes in, person falls dead.
Malice isn’t unstoppable, though; it’s not the Sword of Swords. (Both the steamblade and the Chancellor’s sword are “better,” if you want to think in video game terms) Enough protective magic or a strong enough object will prevent Malice from shearing through stuff.

Leverage, just like what prevents someone from regular-sword-porting an arm off. Anthem’s sword-arm is pinned.
She does have feet, though! We’ll see if she remembers them before Hicoresh opens her up like a can of beans with that sickle-knife!
