The bottom of this page was an absolute pleasure to draw because I got to relax my inking style a bit to work with the heavy shadows. Normally I strictly ration my blacks because too much can make a page look ugly and scraggly, but heavy inking is more fun than my usual (light inks)+(solid colors)+(light shadows) process.
I can’t tell-is Barabon smashing that guy’s head in in the third panel, or is he ripping the scalp off?
That would be the old “squeeze his head until it pops” trick.
I saw it as violently ripping away the (presumably magical) headband from the previous panel, to illustrate his displeasure at the thieving ways of sorcerers.
