Forgers of Pain, beast-men, those skinny-neck giant guys from Kebra’s fortress…this is like one of those levels where you have to fight all the monsters you already fought all over again at the same time. I hate those.

So, I’m curious. Exactly, what is a demon in this universe? A violator of Tamantha that’s begun to collect souls?
@WhyExcel Exactly. And though you can probably guess this, souls let you work a lot more magic than just using the fragments of your own psyche. They also insulate you from echoes–the sort of magical backlash that caused Anthem to fall through a hole in reality.
Anthem… isn’t looking too good.
She looks the opposite of good.
@Amechra Well, if she’s spent all day fighting these things and killing an endless parade of creatures with no clear finish in sight, then she’s likely exhausted. And if I read her expression in the fourth panel rightly, she’s probably entered that form of numbness where one simply keeps doing but stops feeling. The sixth panel seems to support this, as she’s not going to her friends, she’s simply kneeling where she is to rest and await the next occurrence.
BTW, has she leveled up yet? That’s gotta be a ton of XP lying on that floor, even if she’s over level. 😉
