More slight abstraction, another slight break from the grid. Feels good, though I worry after several hundred pages, an image collage could be a bit jarring.
I’m liking Anthem’s hairstyle here. Coupled with the sleek blue dress, the whole package has this slight Jean-Paul Gaultier sci-fi vibe that I really like.
If anyone is interested in comic history or theory, I’ve been reading Jim Shooter’s blog. Jim Shooter got his start writing comics professionally at thirteen and eventually became the Editor-in-Chief of Marvel. He probably knows more about comics than any fifty webcomic artists, and he’s worth checking out. Currently he’s on the “dissecting the awfulness of the DC reboot” bandwagon, but previously he’s talked about layout, inking, intellectual property, and the ugly politics of professional comic publishing.
That’s one hell of a sunrise.
