Took me till now (or rather, the last page) to realize that if I aligned the text left or right, I could produce much neater word balloons.
Drawing by flashlight (the shadows where the characters are, I mean–my monitor casts its own light) is murderously tricky, since it’s hard to figure out how the shadows from a single cone-shaped source wrap around the characters. I have a hard enough time when the light is coming from above and slightly to the left.
Liking the desaturation on these pages, and I’ve been working to keep my actions clear. I think it got a bit muddled in panel 7, but I couldn’t come up with any clever dialogue-fixes to make it clearer.
And once again Gilgam shows why he is my favorite character.
But if he brings her back to the inn there’s probably gonna be trouble.
